NEWARK, Del. – The Drexel softball team and Delaware Blue Hens opened a three-game series on Saturday at the Delaware Softball Stadium in Newark, Del. The game was postponed in the bottom of the 14th inning after a storm made the field unplayable.
Both teams could only push across one run in the 14-inning game. Drexel scored on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth, and Delaware answered in the bottom of the frame with a single to left center.
There were no runners on base with two outs in the bottom of the 14th inning when the game was delayed. The game will be finished on Sunday, April 10, at noon. The rest of the three-game series will follow.
