DORADO BEACH, PUERTO RICO - The Drexel golf team finished in 11th place overall at the Dorado Beach Collegiate hosted by UNCG. The Dragons, playing in arguably the most competitive field they have ever played in, shot a three-over par 291 in the final round. They completed their second tournament of the season at three-under par.
Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa had Drexel's best round on Tuesday. The junior fired a two-under-par 72. Brockton English was also under par with a 71. Drue Nicholas and Oscar Maxfield shot 74 and 76, respectively. Nicholas finished the 54-hole even at the Sugarcane Course at the Dorado Beach Resort and Club (TPC) at one-under par (215). He was the top overall finisher for the Blue and Gold and tied for 37th overall in a field that included nationally-ranked foes Auburn, Virginia, Duke and Cincinnati.
Cincinnati took home the team title with a score of 820, 44 shots under par. The Bearcat finished eight shots better than Duke and 13 strokes ahead of the hosts from UNCG. Augusta and Virginia rounded out the top five.
