PHILADELPHIA – Drexel University women's lacrosse alumna Karson Harris has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for her academic and athletic efforts.
The one-time, non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program.
All former student-athletes who earned an undergraduate degree from an NCAA member school are eligible to be nominated by that school for an NCAA graduate degree scholarship, regardless of when they received their undergraduate degree.
Harris was a two-time All-American and the 2021 CAA Player of the Year. She graduated as the Dragons all-time leader in goals with 211 and draw controls with 351, setting the CAA record in that category. Harris is second in career points (263) and ranks in the top-10 in program history in assists, caused turnovers and ground balls.
In her final two seasons, the Great Mills, Md. native combined to score 123 goals and delivered 16 as she led DU to its first ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2021 and its first CAA title in 2022.
Harris completed her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences with a 3.96 GPA. She won the 2022 Mary Semanik Award and was the CAA nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year. Harris was the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for women's lacrosse in her final season and was a four-time member of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.
