Fairfield, Conn. - The Drexel women's lacrosse team fell to Fairfield on Saturday afternoon, 12-5. Jenika Cuocco finished with seven saves and collected four ground balls. Drexel moves to 4-3 on the year while the Stags improves to 5-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Stags opened the game with two early goals at the 14:19 and 12:05 mark. DU responded with a goal from Corinne Bednarick to cut the lead to one. She now has hit the back of the net 22 times this season. After another Fairfield tally, Molly Weygand scored off an assist from Bednarik to end the quarter down by one.
FFU began the quarter once again with two straight goals, adding to the lead 5-2. Ellie Wall scored the only goal for the Dragons in the quarter on a player up advantage. Fairfield finished the quarter with two more goals as Drexel headed to halftime down 7-3.
In the third quarter at 13:20, Allison Drake capitalized off the free position goal to cut into the lead, 7-4.
Fairfield opened the quarter with a pair of goals to extend its lead to five. Wall scored her second goal of the game off an assist from Maddie Fowler to make it 9-5. Fairfield closed the content with three consecutive tallies.

The Dragons return home to Philadelphia on Saturday, March 16, to take on CAA rival, Delaware in the conference opener. Opening draw is set for 3:00 p.m. from Vidas Field.
