Dragons Fall in Doubleheader Against Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Drexel softball team was defeated in a pair of games on Tuesday afternoon in South Orange, N.J. The Pirates defeated the Dragons in game one, 6-0, then downed the Dragons once more, 8-1, in game two.
Allison Hoppe (4-10) tossed four innings, allowing six runs on 13 hits. Natalie Alldred finished the game, throwing two innings and holding the Pirates to just two hits.
The Pirates did all of their damage in the middle innings. The team scored one run in the third, four runs in the fourth and then one more in the fifth.
Lindsay Nelson started in the circle for game two. The Old Bridge, N.J. native went six innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits. The senior fanned five batters in the effort.
Ashley Errico was responsible for Drexel's lone run of the game. The senior hit a single to right field to score Kalea Calugay.
Seton Hall did all of its damage in the middle portion of the game, like game one, scoring three runs in the third and five runs in the fifth.
Drexel closes out its home slate starting on Friday against the UNCW Seahawks. The first game of the series is set to begin at 3 p.m.
