Dragons to Wrap Up Homestand Against Maine

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men's basketball team is set to conclude its three game homestand against the Maine Black Bears on Sunday, December 12, at 2 p.m. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98 is once again the presenting sponsor of Drexel Men's Basketball.
ABOUT DREXEL
The Dragons are 5-7 aftera gritty, 75-67 win over Mount Saint Mary's Friday night. Victor Panov and Ralph Akuta led the way with career nights, scoring career-highs of 16 and 11 points, respectively. Panov was dominant on both sides of the floor, recording seven defensive rebounds to go with a steal and a block. Akuta shot 5/7 from the field while shutting down opponents on defense: blocking two shots and stealing the ball once. The Dragons made 53% of their shots and shot a season-high 83% from the free-throw line.
ABOUT MAINE
The Black Bears are 1-12 after a loss to Canisius on Saturday. Chris Markwood coaches them in his fourth season. Graduate student TJ Biel leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.2 points per game.
THE SERIES
Drexel leads the all time series against their former AEC rivals 19-9. Their last contest was in January 2001 when the Dragons won 88-83 at home.
