Dragons Edged by North Carolina in Doubleheader

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Drexel softball team was defeated in the first two games of the Tar Heel Invitational, hosted by North Carolina. The Tar Heels were victorious in game one, 8-0, then returned to Anderson Softball Stadium and defeated the Dragons, 16-1.
In game two of the doubleheader, Drexel received offensive production from Mia Garza, Lily Meuninck, Kylah Reading and Macie Bergmann.
Meuninck was responsible for Drexel's lone run of the game. The senior hit a single in the top of the first and scored Lana Mooney to give Drexel an early lead. The Tar Heels fired back in the bottom of the first then again in the second inning.
Drexel returns to Chapel Hill on Friday to play a pair of games on day two of the Tar Heel Invitational. The Dragons play George Mason at 10 a.m. then face Princeton at 12:30 p.m.
