Dragons Defeated in Conference Opener Against Delaware

After holding the high-powered Delaware offense scoreless in the first inning, the Dragons could not hold the visitors at bay in the second frame. The Blue Hens rallied six runs to pull ahead of the Dragons. In the bottom of the frame, Drexel drew three walks to load the bases. Zoe Krizan hit a single to center field and scored two runners.
Delaware scored three insurance runs in the third inning, then scored three more in the fourth. In the fifth Delaware tacked on two runs to push its total to 14. Drexel responded with a run in the bottom of the inning. A double by Krizan set the run up. Kylah Reading then hit a double to left center to score Krizan and give Drexel it's third run.
Drexel returns to the Drexel Softball Field on Saturday to face the Blue Hen's in game game two of the three-game series. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
