PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's lacrosse team will make its final appearance at Vidas Field on Saturday in a key CAA contest vs. Stony Brook. The Seawolves and Dragons are fighting for a playoff spot with just two games remaining in the regular season. Face-off is set for noon.
About the Dragons
The Dragons have won two in a row and are now 6-6 beginning play. Drexel is now 3-2 in league play and is tied with Hofstra for third place in the league. The Dragons handed the Pride a 14-6 loss last Saturday on Long Island. Brendan Donnelly had 13 saves in the win against Hofstra and was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week. Max Semple had five goals and now has 30 on the season. He has scored 30 or more goals three times in his career at Drexel. Aidan Shortley has had a solid season and has a .554 save percentage.
About Stony Brook
The Seawolves need a win to stay in contention for a playoff spot. Stony Brook is 6-6 overall and 2-3 in conference action. They have won two of their last three, including a victory against Monmouth last week. The Seawolves are the only CAA team to post a win against Fairfield this season. Justin Bonacci has 30 points to lead the team, while Collin Williamson has 19 goals. Jamison MacLachlan leads the CAA with a .571 save percentage.
