PHILADELPHIA - Jenika Cuocco earned 17 saves as the Drexel women's lacrosse team outlasted Temple, 17-13, Wednesday afternoon at Vidas Field. The Owl's stormed back from a 9-1 deficit to pull within two goals in the fourth quarter. Four different Dragons scored in the final eight minutes to help Drexel (12-3, 6-1) come away with the win. Allison Drake collected six goals, while Bea Buckley and Bridget Finley added four points each.

After an early goal from the Owl's, the Dragons put together nine straight to take a 9-1 advantage midway through the second quarter. Five Dragons hit the back of the net, with Drake recording her ninth hat trick of the season in that span. Temple put together a pair of goals from Laura Conner and Amelia Wright before Kate Marano found Buckley at the buzzer to end the half with a 10-3 advantage. Cuocco finished the half with ten stops.

Both teams traded scores to begin the second half, before Temple sparked their comeback. The Owl's scored four goals in under five minutes to outscore the Dragons 5-1 in the quarter. Conner found the back of the net twice as Temple trailed by just three.

Drexel ended the run as Mary Claire Heubeck connected off the dish from Finley at the 14:09 mark of the four quarter. Temple bounced right back with another pair of goals. Erin King and Sarah Gowman each tallied as the Owl's pulled to within just two.

A timeout from the Dragons played dividends as Drexel earned three goals in two minutes. Caroline Senich added her second of the day as Kate Quinn and Teagan Quinn both scored two more as Drexel took a 15-10 lead.

Both teams traded a pair of goals, as Drake tallied for two more. Temple scored another late but it was not enough for the upset. Both goalkeepers had a standout performance, as Cuocco came one save shy of a career high. Taylor Grollman of Temple matched Cuocco with 17 stops, two shy of a season-high.

Drexel finishes the regualar season on Saturday as they face Elon on Senior Day
