Dragons to Begin Southern Road Trip at Charleston

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's basketball team is set to begin is road trip in the Carolinas on Friday evening. The Dragons face the College of Charleston Cougars on Friday night at 7 p.m. at TD Arena. On Sunday, the Dragons wrap their road trip with a matchup against the UNCW Seahawks, action from Wilmington is set for1 p.m. Both Games will be featured on FloCollege.
Last Time Out
The Drexel women's basketball team earned its first conference victory on Sunday afternoon, 67-38. The Dragons improved to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Hofstra fell to 3-12 overall and 1-3 in conference
play.
Deja Evans finished with her second straight 20-point performance, shooting 8-for-10 and going 4-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Amaris Baker added 14 points to the stat sheet. Baker was perfect from the line, finishing 4-for-4.
All active players for Drexel found the bottom of the bucket in Sunday's matchup. Emilee Jones finished with five points, tying a career-high. The sophomore also played for a career-high 17 minutes and grabbed five rebounds, also a career-high.
Sunday's 29-point victory was the largest NET point victory at home during conference play since the Dragons defeated UNCW, 72-39 in 2022.
Hofstra's 38 points is tied for the seventh lowest point total at home in conference play in program history.

The Drexel women's basketball team erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Charleston Cougars on Friday night at the Daskalakis Athletic Center, 58-56. The Dragon's held the CAA's hottest offense to 28 percent from the floor, while Drexel (8-8, 4-2) shot 42.6 percent.
Amaris Baker scored 19 points on 7-for-16 shooting and converting on a pair of long range shots. The senior also went 3-for-6 from the free throw line. Cara McCormack went 5-for-9 and 3-for-6 from long range in her 13-point performance. The graduate student also grabbed four rebounds and dished four assists in the effort.
Chloe Hodges finished with five points, five rebounds and six assists in the effort. Hodges also picked up two steals on the night.
The Dragons held Charleston, who usually shoots 30.5 percent from deep, to just 2-for-23.
