Three Dragons Earn Preseason All-CAA Team Nod

RICHMOND, Va. — Bea Buckley, Kate Quinn and Katie Maloney of the Drexel women's lacrosse team were named to the Preseason All-CAA Team for the 2026 season, as announced by the conference on Thursday. Additionally, Emma Nikolic received an honorable mention. Drexel was the only school with three preseason selections.
Buckley led the Dragons in scoring last season with 72 points, tallying 28 times with a single-season program record 44 assists. The junior finished third in the conference in assists per game (2.44) and fifth in points per game (4.0). Buckley scored at least five points in seven games and dished out four or more assists seven times, including each of the last three. In only two seasons as a Dragon, Buckley already sits fourth all-time in program history with 63 career assists.
Quinn returns for her senior campaign after being named to the 2025 All-CAA Second Team. The midfielder posted 27 goals on the year with 28 points overall. Quinn also got it done on the defensive side, grabbing 30 ground balls and causing 15 turnovers. The team captain was also third on the team in draw controls with 60.
Maloney earns her first CAA Preseason award in her redshirt junior season. The Gaithersburg, Md., product led the Dragons with 44 ground balls and added 24 caused turnovers, ranking second on the team. DU was 18th in the nation in scoring defense last year, holding opponents to just 9.89 goals per game.
Nikolic was named to the CAA All-Rookie team in her first year at Drexel. The defender started in all 18 games, scooping up 10 ground balls and causing nine turnovers.
In the CAA Preseason Poll, Drexel was picked to finish second in the eight team field. Stony Brook received the most first place votes with seven. DU received one first place vote with a total of 42 points overall. Towson came in third, followed by Elon, Hofstra, William & Mary, Campbell, and Monmouth.
