WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The Drexel women's lacrosse team fell to William & Mary, 13-7, in the Dragons CAA opener on Saturday. Teagan Quinn led DU in scoring, collecting a career-high four goals. Lucy Dailey also had a career day with ten saves in front of the cage.
The Tribe opened the scoring on a free-position opportunity, as Mila Millhouse recorded the first five strikes for the Tribe, finishing with eight points on the day. Teagan Quinn evened it for Drexel, but William & Mary responded with four straight goals over 13 minutes, giving the Tribe a commanding 5-1 lead.
Quinn added her second of the day for the Dragons, finishing a feed from Katherine Senich. William & Mary answered less than a minute later, as Finley Hoffman helped push the lead back to four. Senich then drove and finished on her own, finding the back of the net before the Tribe closed out the half with two straight to take a 8–3 lead at the half.
William & Mary capped off the three-goal run early into the third quarter, as Aubrey Roth scored on the player-up. Hailey Kluepfel ended the drought for the Dragons, collecting the first goal of her career. Teagan Quinn put another away herself to make it two-straight before the Tribe responded with a 3-0 run.
Quinn and Ellie Wall scored two more for the Dragons in the fourth quarter, but it was enough to make the comeback. Drexel falls to 3-5 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
