Andreopoulos Wins Swimmer of the Meet, Dragons Finsh Third at the CAA Championships

HAMPTON, Va. – Theo Andreopoulos was named CAA Swimmer of the Meet as Drexel men's swimming and diving placed third overall with 667.5 points at the 2026 CAA Championships. The Dragons closed the meet with three medals Saturday night, including a CAA All-Time and CAA Meet record in the 400 freestyle relay.
Andreopoulos won gold in the 200 backstroke in 1:42.00, setting a school record and achieving an NCAA A standard to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, March 25–28. Petar Pavalic added a silver medal in the event, touching in 1:42.59.
Sebastian Smith won gold in the 100 freestyle with a school-record time of 42.85.
Drexel finished the meet with a gold medal in the 400 freestyle relay as Andreopoulos, Matas Cinga, Pavalic and Smith combined for a time of 2:52.00, setting the CAA All-Time and CAA Meet record.
Petar Pavlic won the silver in the 200 back, hitting the wall at 1:42.59.
Richard Pucek earned bronze in the 200 butterfly, finishing third in 1:46.03.
In the 1650 freestyle, Kaan Akdag finished eighth (15:44.63), while Grady Potter placed 14th (16:09.85) and Colton Wade finished 15th (16:18.62).
Drexel completed the four-day meet with 14 total medals, including nine gold, and set multiple school records.
