A fifth-year senior who will serve as a co-captain…a physical player who will be relied on more on the offensive end this season.
2006: Scored 10 goals and had six assists…had two goals and three points at Albany…picked up 12 ground balls and won 11 faceoffs vs. Sacred Heart…won 10 or more faceoffs in six games…finished the year 22nd in the nation with 4.7 ground balls per game.
2005: Played in just three games before suffering a season-ending knee injury…had three goals and an assist…won 64 percent of his faceoffs before being hurt, including 10-of-13 against Lafayette…also scored twice in that game.
2004: Finished ninth in the nation in faceoff percentage (.598) and 11th in the country in ground balls (5.54)...scored 12 goals, including three in win vs. Lafayette...grabbed a career-high 13 ground balls vs. Albany...won 18-of-23 faceoffs vs. Lafayette.
2003: Played in 14 games...had a goal vs. Lafayette and Towson...had 21 ground balls and won 31 of 70 draws....won all four draws and had five ground balls vs. Binghamton.
Background: Played lacrosse, soccer and basketball at Northport...won a state championship in lacrosse...was the lacrosse Unsung Hero recipient as a senior...captain of the basketball team...named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students...son of Michael and Janet Filippone...majoring in mechanical engineering.
