Jackie Cifarelli joined the Drexel coaching staff during the summer of 2015 and enters her second season with the Dragons in 2016-17. She came to Drexel after completing an outstanding collegiate playing career at Ohio State.
Cifarelli helped lead the Dragons to a 10-7 record and a berth in the CAA Championship tournament, which Drexel hosted for the first time, during her inaugural season in University City in 2016. She saw the offense make tremendous strides from the previous season, including a 49-point effort from First Team All-CAA selection Nadia Pelham-Lacey and a 33-goal performance from Devin Nihill.
During her four years at Ohio State, Cifarelli set a school record for career assists and finished second in career points. Her 179 assists are the third-highest total in NCAA Division I history. A three-time IWLCA regional All-American, Cifarelli was a two-time Tewaaraton Award nominee and was named to the inaugural Big Ten All-Conference Team in 2015. She was an ALC All-Conference team selection as a sophomore and a junior. Her teams reached the NCAA Tournament in each of her last two seasons in Columbus.
Cifarelli, a native of Rockville Centre, N.Y., graduated from Ohio State with a degree in sociology. In 2014, she earned a Student Athlete Academic Achievement award from OSU.
