Adrian Sabovici won the 1000 free against La Salle
Men's Swimming & Diving Falls Short Against La Salle, 166.5-133.5

Philadelphia - Drexel men's swimming & diving fell to visiting La Salle in a dual meet at Drexel Pool, 166.5-133.5. Sherif Madkour picked up three individual first-place finishes while T.J. Southmayd remained undefeated in all individual competitions. The loss dropped Drexel's record to 1-2 on the season.
Drexel's Adrian Sabovici picked up the team's first victory as he took the 1000 free in 10:14.83, more than 13 seconds faster than La Salle's top finisher. Drexel's next victory came in the 100 back as Southmayd clocked a 53.61 to take the win over Edward Carnes of La Salle who finished 0.31 behind. Madkour followed with an win in the next event, the 100 breast, after he touched the wall at 59.05. Armagan Yavuz continued the Drexel push with a win in the 200 fly, the very next men's event, with a time of 1:59.38. After La Salle rebounded with a win in the 50 free, Southmayd picked up nine team points with a first-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 47.56. La Salle won the 200 back but Madkour picked up his second win of the day after touching at 2:08.78 in the 200 breast. Drexel continued to cut into the Explorers' lead as Mert Karsiyakalilar, Yavuz and Matthew Grooms finished first, second and third, respectively, in the 100 fly. Drexel continued the momentum into the next event, the 200 IM, as Madkour took first and Cole Gindhart captured second place. La Salle capped the meet, however, with a victory in the 200 free relay to clinch the win.
In diving action, Stephen Cal took second in the 1 and 3-meter events while Giles Wozniak claimed fourth in the 1-meter and fifth in the 3-meter. It was the first career collegiate meet for both Cal and Wozniak.
