Dragons Open Conference Road Season at No. 10 James Madison and George Mason

Drexel women's lacrosse will be severely tested as the Dragons take to the road to face No. 10 James Madison on Friday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. before meeting George Mason on Sunday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. After splitting their first two Colonial Athletic Association games of the season, Drexel stands at 9-3 overall. The Dukes are coming off of a double-overtime win over No. 8 Towson and a victory over Delaware that moved them to 9-2 overall. The Patriots lost at Delaware and at Towson last weekend and are 3-9 overall.
Katie Lawson has been outstanding on attack all season for the Dragons. The senior enters the week leading the conference in goals per game with 3.25 and is fourth in points per game at 3.67. Becca Drylie-Perkins is second on the team with 30 points on 22 goals and eight assists while sophomore Charlotte Wood has contributed 26 goals. Goalie Whitney Johnson ranks second on the conference with a .503 save percentage.
The Dukes feature a balanced scoring attack and a stout defense. Kim Griffin is the team leader in goals and points with 26 and 40, respectively. Mary Kate Lomady has contributed 24 goals while Casey Ancarrow has totaled 23 thus far this season. Monica Zabel has a team-leading 17 assists and ranks fourth in the CAA in assists per game. Goalie Morgan Kelly is ranked among the top 10 in the nation in goals against average and is leading the conference with a 7.39 mark.
Mason is led by Madalyn Jamison who has 20 goals and a conference-best 28 assists in 2010. Emily Ellisen is the Patriots' leader in goals with 24. George Mason has struggled defensively at times this season as the Patriots have allowed more than 13 goals per game. The team's three wins have come against Virginia Tech, George Washington and American.
