The Drexel men's lacrosse team will visit arch-rival Delaware in a pivotal CAA contest on Saturday night. The 11th-ranked Dragons (9-3, 2-1) are looking to bounce back from a tough one-goal loss at Towson last week. With a victory, the Dragons can clinch a spot in the upcoming CAA Tournament.
Delaware upset then No. 12 UMass last weekend, 9-6. The win improved the Blue Hens record to 6-6 overall and 1-2 in CAA play. It also got the team right back in the playoff hunt. Curtis Dickson is one of the top offensive players in the nation. The reigning CAA Player of the Week has already scored 45 goals and ranks among the nation's leaders in both goals and points (57).
The Dragons' loss on Saturday was just their third of the season. All three losses have come to teams ranked in the top 20 (Virginia, Villanova and Towson). Colin Ambler and Scott Perri are tied for the team lead with 35 points. Freshman Robert Church has 27 goals. Five different players have at least 13 goals for the Dragons. Mark Manos has emerged as an All-American candidate in the cage. He has a 7.72 goals against average and a .615 save percentage.
The Dragons return home after Saturday's game to face UMass in the regular-season finale. The Minutemen and Dragons will face-off at 4 p.m. on May 1 at Vidas Field.
