Women's Lacrosse to Face No. 10 Towson and Delaware in Key Conference Games

The Drexel women's lacrosse team will host 10th-ranked Towson on Friday, April 23 at 4:00 p.m. before visiting Delaware on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The Dragons are currently 10-4 overall and 2-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association with just three games remaining in the regular season. The team's conference mark has the Dragons in a tie for fourth place and in position to claim the program's first-ever CAA Championships berth. Towson is currently second in the league with a 4-1 conference mark and boasts a 10-3 overall record. The Blue Hens are currently 2-3 in the CAA with a 5-9 record in 2009.
Drexel's Becca Drylie Perkins contributed six goals in the Dragons' two games last weekend, including three in the team's 10-5 victory at George Mason. Alyse Maiden also chipped in with three goals in the triumph over the Patriots and was selected as the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week. Senior Katie Lawson leads the team and is second in the conference with 41 goals this season. On the defensive side, goalie Whitney Johnson leads the CAA with a .508 save percentage and ranks second with an 8.79 goals against average.
Towson is led by Hillary Fratzke who leads the conference with 42 goals and 54 draw controls. Jess Dunn has also contributed 37 goals for the Tigers. Delaware's leading scorer is Ali Libertini who has scored 24 goals and has recorded 29 points in 2009. Emily Schaknowski is the Blue Hens' leader in assists with 12 and is second with 27 points.
