Women's Lacrosse Faces Hofstra in Final Tune-Up Before CAA Tournament

Philadelphia - Drexel women's lacrosse visits Hofstra on Thursday, April 28 at 4:00 p.m. Drexel enters the weekend 9-6 after defeating George Mason, 9-3, on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons earned a birth to the CAA tournament for the first time in school history after third seed William and Mary defeated Old Dominion, 16-11, on Wednesday night.
Junior Charlotte Wood leads the Dragons with 40 goals and needs one more score to record her 100th career goal. Wood has six assists and a total of 46 points for Drexel. On the defensive end, senior goalkeeper Whitney Johnson has posted 82 stops and picked up 20 groundballs.
Hofstra leads the all-time series 21-7. Last season, Becca Drylie-Perkins and Katie Lawson scored three goals in the 19-7 loss against Hofstra. Hofstra held a slim 30-28 lead in shots while the Pride won 18 of the game's 27 draws. The Pride's goalies made 13 saves on the day while Behrndt and Whitney Johnson combined to stop three shots.
The Pride dropped to 5-10 on the season after a 9-8 loss to James Madison on Sunday. Hofstra posted wins against Oregon, Denver, Fairfield, No. 17 Notre Dame, and George Mason. Sophomore midfielder Jill Maier leads the team with 36 goals, while teammate Claire Brady holds the most assists.
