OMAHA - The Drexel men's soccer team will have a stiff test as it looks for its first victory of the season on Sunday, as the Dragons head to the Midwest to take on sixth-ranked Creighton at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Drexel is coming off a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Villanova in its opener last Wednesday.
The Dragons (0-1-0) are facing perennial power Creighton for the first time in program history. The Bluejays (2-0-0) will be playing their home opener when they take on Drexel, having gone on the road to take down Denver and UMKC to open their season. Most recently, Creighton thumped UMKC to the tune of 5-0 on Wednesday. Jose Gomez had two assists and a goal in that victory.
For Drexel, goalkeeper Pentti Pussinen had a strong game against Villanova in the opener, saving four shots in the defensive struggle. Brandon Zeller and Tal Bublil had three shots each, with two of Zeller's going on net.
The Dragons and Bluejays face off at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Creighton will have live stats available, as well as streaming video.
