Men's Soccer Plays Princeton to Scoreless Draw

PHILADELPHIA – Stephen Kopsachilis put together his sixth clean sheet of the season, but the Drexel men's soccer team could not get him any support as the Dragons played Princeton to a scoreless draw at Vidas Field on Tuesday evening. The Dragons were outshot 22-8, but Kospachilis came up with seven saves to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard.

Kopsachilis and the Dragons held off an early Princeton attack, as the Tigers registered the game's first eight shots, with Kopsachilis called upon to make saves on three of them. The Dragons' first look came just over 33 minutes in, when Laolu Daranijo sent a low ball in on Princeton keeper Jack Roberts.

Early in the second half, the Dragons got two of their best looks of the evening as Anthony Amore and Robert Smith each put looks on that tested Roberts, who was making his first appearance of the season. He handled both, and the Dragons managed just two more shots - neither of which went on goal - the rest of the evening.

The Dragons now turn their attention back to Colonial Athletic Association action, where they will take on William & Mary on Saturday night. The last conference game of the year for the Dragons, Saturday will be a make-or-break game for them as they come in two points ahead of the Tribe for the final playoff spot. They would not be able to clinch a playoff berth with a win, as the Tribe still has two games remaining after Saturday, but they could be eliminated with a loss if Northeastern earns at least a point in its Saturday evening game at the College of Charleston.

Drexel will conclude its regular season next Wednesday when it hosts Saint Joseph's in a Philadelphia Soccer Six matchup on Senior Day. That match gets underway at 6 p.m.
