Softball Unveils 2020 Schedule

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Head Softball Coach Carl Taylor has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2020 season. An early-season trip to Hawaii and 16 home games highlight the calendar for the Dragons.

Drexel opens the season at the UCF Invitational, which runs Feb. 28-March 1 in Orlando, Fla. The Dragons face Ball State, Columbia and LIU. Next up, DU competes at the Pirate Invitational March 6-8. The Dragons play Wagner, Binghamton, UMBC and Saint Peter's in Norfolk, Va. before a road game at Hampton on the final day.

Drexel rounds out the early portion of the schedule with a trip to Hawaii to play in the Rainbow Wahine Classic March 12-14. While there, it will match up against Texas Tech, Hawai'i and Minnesota. The Golden Gophers reached the Women's College World Series one year ago.

After returning to Philadelphia, Drexel opens Colonial Athletic Association play against James Madison, starting on March 21. Following a quick trip to Delaware State, the Dragons resume CAA action at Hofstra on March 28 and 29.

The Dragons close out March at Saint Peter's then begin a five-game homestand with a doubleheader against Coppin State on April 2. Drexel then contests a three-game series with UNCW on April 4 and 5.

After doubleheaders at Fairleigh Dickinson and at home against Howard on April 7 and 9, respectively, Drexel heads to Elon for a three-game weekend series.

Next up, the Dragons have six straight in Philadelphia. They host La Salle for a doubleheader on April 15 and entertain Towson for a three-game series on April 18 and 19. Finally, Drexel makes the short trip to play Penn on April 22.

After a three-game series at College of Charleston and a doubleheader at Lafayette, the Dragons play their final home game against Saint Joseph's on April 29. They close out the season on the road at Delaware on May 1 and 2.

The CAA Championships run March 6-8 in Harrisonburg, Va.
