An Eight-Goal Fourth Quarter Powers Drexel Past UAlbany, 20-13

ALBANY, N.Y. – An eight-goal fourth quarter powered Drexel to a 20-13 victory over UAlbany on Friday afternoon in Albany, N.Y. The Dragons' 20 goals marks a season-high as DU improves to a 4-3 record while giving the Great Danes their fourth loss of the season.
The Dragons outscored the Great Danes in all but one quarter and registered six different players with two or more goals on the day. Karson Harris and Lucy Schneidereith paved the way for Drexel, each scoring four goals. Corinne Bednarik, Colleen Grady and Allison Drake each tallied three goals of their own.

First Quarter – Drexel 6, UAlbany 5
The Dragons and the Great Danes battled to a one goal difference in the first quarter, each taking six shots on goals. Grady gave Drexel the advantage early with an assist from Claire Jarema. Albany picked up a pair of goals, but the Dragons quickly answered back with two of their own from Bednarik and Schneidereith. The two teams continued to trade leads but a trio of scores from Harris, Drake and Simpson in the final two minutes propelled Drexel to a one goal lead.
Second Quarter – Drexel 11, UAlbany 7
Albany tied the score at six to open the second quarter, but Drexel's offense caught fire with five unanswered goals. The Dragons saw scores from Schneidereith (2), Harris (2) and Grady as the three captains opened DU's lead to four headed into the half.
Third Quarter – Drexel 12, UAlbany 13
Maura Cissel won the opening draw in the second half and took the ball all the way to net for her first goal as a Dragon. Cissel's goal would be the only one of the quarter as Albany's offense powered its way to six consecutive goals to retake the lead, 13-12.
Fourth Quarter – Drexel 20, UAlbany 13
Drexel's effort in the fourth quarter was unmatched as the Dragons nailed eight goals on their way to victory. Simpson started DU's scoring spree with her second goal of the day on an assist from Grady. Drake, Bednarik and Grady each found their third goal in the following minutes, opening the door for Harris and Schneidereith's to record their fourth. The Dragons consistent scoring effort opened enough of a gap for them to secure a dominant victory over the Great Danes.
