Bednarik Records Career High 10 Points
PHILADELPHIA – The Dragons picked up their third CAA victory of the year on Wednesday afternoon in a dominant 18-7 victory over Hofstra. Drexel improves to 8-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play while handing Hofstra its second CAA loss.
Corinne Bednarik had a record day for the Dragons recording 10 total points on four goals and six assists. The junior attacks six assists broke Drexel's single season record (5) previously set by teammate Colleen Grady against UAlbany on Mar. 25, 2021. Her 10 total points also tied the single-game record previously set by Colleta Gerstemeier in April of 1993. In addition to her scoring frenzy, Bednarik led the way on the draw control, winning eight of DU's 14 draws.
Harris joined Bednarik with four goals of her own against the Pride. The grad midfielder's four goals marks the ninth time this season that she has accounted for three or more goals in a game. To round out the scoring, the Dragons saw a pair of goals from several different players including Lucy Schneidereith, Colleen Grady, Allison Drake and Lindsey Dean.
Despite allowing three goals in the first, Zoe Bennett shut the Pride down on the offensive end, recording 11 total saves on 24 total shots. Bennett's efforts in net has her leading the CAA in save percentage while ranked in the top three in goals against average and saves per game.
Drexel has three more games left in its regular season, including two conference matchups against Elon and JMU and a non-conference battle against Dartmouth.
