Donovan Signs MLS Contract With Philadelphia Union

CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union announced that Drexel alumnus Chris Donovan 22' has been signed to an MLS contract after claiming him off waivers. Donovan joins Jeff Parke '03 and Ken Tribbett '13 on the list of Drexel Alumni who earned a spot on an MLS roster.
Donovan, who was drafted by the Columbus Crew in the third round of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft, was signed to the Philadelphia Union II and led the team after making ten appearances (seven starts) and scoring three goals and one assist.
Donovan capped his Drexel career after scoring 30 goals and 13 assists through 60 appearances. For his effort in his senior campaign, Donovan earned multiple accolades, including the Philadelphia Inquirer Men's Soccer Performer of the Year, Chris Jones Philly Soccer Six Player of the Year, Colonaial Athletic Association Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches Atlantic Regions First Team and the John Semanik Award.
