Drexel's victory also secures the second seed with a path to capture the regular season championship. For Drexel to finish atop the standings and head into the CAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed, Elon must lose to Campbell. The match between the Phoenix and Camels is set to be played Saturday night at 7 p.m.
Drexel checked in with its first goal of the game in the ninth minute. Julian Pittaoulis played a ball into the box and deflected by a Charleston Cougar. Dominick Bachstein flicked the ball onto Short who broke through the middle of the box. Short powered the ball past the keeper to give Drexel the early advantage. The assist is Bachstein's sixth assist of the season.
