
Chelsea Gravereaux Secures Second Gold of CAA Championship

HAMPTON, Va. – Chelsea Gravereaux won gold in the 200 free as the Drexel Women's swimming and diving competed on night three of the CAA Championships, Friday night in Hampton, Va. at the Hampton Aquaplex.
Gravereaux backed up her gold medal performance on Thursday by winning her second gold of the CAA Championship. The graduate student finished third in her preliminary race, with a time of 1:50.93. She came back in the finals and hit the wall in 1:47.22. The time beat second place by 0.57 seconds.
Megan Ehrnfeldt posted a program record in the 100 fly. The sophomore finished sixth at a time of 54.05, breaking her own record, which she set last year at the conference championships.
Federica Nocera was victorious in the 100 back B Final, finishing with a time of 55.28. Mary Kubiak also won the C Final, touching the wall in 55.96
In the 200 free relay, Gravereaux, Delaney Leonard, Clare Schwartz and Ehrnfeldt finished night three with a strong performance. The team was able to win the bronze medal, finishing with a time of 1:31.76.
The Dragons finished night three in sixth place with 417 points. UNCW leads the rankings after 16 events with 940.5 points. The third night of competition features 1650 Free, 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, Women's 1m Diving and 400 Free Relay. Prelims begin tomorrow at 10 a.m. The finals will kick off at 6 p.m. The entirety of the 2024 CAA Swimming and Diving Championships, including preliminaries, will be streamed on FloSwimming.
