STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Drexel women's lacrosse team defeated Hofstra, 18-9, on Thursday afternoon to advance to the CAA Women's Lacrosse Championship against No. 1 Stony Brook. Corinne Bednarik had a game for the record books, finishing with 11 points, including three goals and eight assists.
The fifth year now has 97 points on the season, breaking the all-time single-season record of 89, previously held by Colleen Grady. Bednarik also broke the single-game record in assists, besting her own record of six collected against Hofstra in 2022. The captain is now two goals shy of breaking the all-time DU record of 292 points scored.
Bednarik also made her mark into the CAA record book. The Glenmoore, Pa. native captured the CAA record for assists and points in a conference tournament game. She also became the second women in CAA history to score 11 points twice in a single season, the first also coming this year.

Molly Weygand soon followed, getting the dish from Bednarik to fire into the back of the net to add to the lead for Drexel. Bednarik followed with a goal of her own, spinning around the Hofstra defender to secure her first goal of the game.
The Pride's Nikki Mennella knocked in the first and only tally of the quarter for HU, before the Dragons went on to score eight straight between the first and second frames. The first came from Kate Marano, who dumped in a shot in front of the crease to make it 4-1 DU.
After Bea Buckley recorded her first goal of the game, Bednarik raced towards the cage and fired past the goalie to break the Drexel single-season record in points. Drake, Bednarik, Weygand and Alex Wall all scored to make it 12-2 DU. Hofstra's Taylor Mennella and Lauren Coletti closed the quarter out with a goal a piece to send the Dragons into halftime up 12-4.
Alex Wall opened the third for Drexel, sneaking a shot in through the top of the net to add to the lead 13-4. Kristen Redding tallied for the second time to cut into the Drexel lead. Maddie Fowler and Buckley each added a goal as the Dragons finished the quarter up 15-6.
Weygand and Caroline Senich each hit the back of the net in the start of the fourth quarter, both coming off the assist from Bednarik.
