Women’s Lacrosse to Face Hofstra on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 23/25 Drexel women's lacrosse team is set to play Hofstra on Sunday at Vidas Field. Sunday's game is Youth Day, and players will sign post game autographs. Opening draw is set for 2 p.m.
About the Dragons
DU is riding a nine game winning streak, which is the longest in a single-season in program history. Drexel is 10-2 this season and holds a one game advantage over Stony Brook for the top spot in the conference with a 5-0 record.
On Thursday, Drexel traveled to West Long Branch, N.J. to take down Monmouth, 15-5. Three Dragons collected a hat trick, as Bridget Finley led the way for four goals. Jenika Cuocco had another impressive performance, collecting eight saves and picking up four ground balls, with a .615 save percentage.
Allison Drake added a pair of goals against the Hawks, bringing her season total to 35 goals. The graduate student is sixth in the nation in shooting percentage at .636 percent. She has also taken advantage of the free position opportunities, scoring a NCAA seventh-best 1.18 per game.
The Dragons have once again been a force on the defensive end this season. Drexel has the 12th best scoring defense in the nation, allowing just nine tallies per game. Katie Maloney is fifth best in the CAA in ground balls per game, averaging 2.5 a contest. Overall, the team is 16th in the country in ground balls.
About the Pride
The Pride are 7-5 this season with a 2-2 record in the CAA. They have faced off against strong non-conference opponents including Princeton, Rutgers and Connecticut.
Nikki Mennella was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in the 2025 season. She helped the Pride strom back from a three goal deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Campbell, 12-11. Mennella finished with ninth points on six goals and three assists. This was the fourth time she had collected nine points in a game in her redshirt sophomore campaign.

Hofstra leads the series against the Dragons, 16-28. The Dragons have bested the Pride in the last seven straight match ups, including defeating Hofstra twice last season. Drexel rolled over the Pride in the CAA Semi-final game, 18-9, as Corinne Bednarik tied her own program record with 11 points.
