Patrick Short Named Drexel's CAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year

RICHMOND, Va. – Patrick Short of men's soccer has been named Drexel's Coastal Athletic Association's Male Scholar-Athlete.
Short completed his graduate campaign with five goals and 10 assists for 20 points across 13 matches and 1311 minutes. Short concluded the regular season with a five-point performance against Charleston. The Georgetown, Del. native scored two goals and tallied an assist in the 5-1 victory. Short was named the CAA's Co-Midfielder of the Year, the first Dragon to win the award, and also to the All-CAA First Team. In addition, Short was named to the CSC Academic All-America First Team this past fall. Short is the second straight Drexel men's soccer player to be named to the Academic All-American first team. Youri Senden was selected to the team in 2023. It is the first time a Drexel program has had players win back-to-back Academic All-American first team since Kelli Griffith of Softball was selected to the first team in both 1992 and 1993.
Each of the CAA's 13 institutions had a nominee for the CAA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and each will be recognized with a crystal award. Dave Fitch of UNCW was named the 2024-25 Coastal Athletic Association Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
