PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's lacrosse team is set to begin its 2026 lacrosse season at noon on Friday against the University of Delaware Blue Hens at Vidas Field. The two teams renew its rivalry on FloCollege.
Preseason Awards
Conor Hooley, Liam Kammar and Pat Lyman were selected to the Preseason All-CAA Team ahead of the 2026 season. Drexel was the only school with three selections to the preseason list.
Hooley enters his final season as a Dragon with 61 goals, 40 assists and 101 points in his career. The Woodbury, Minn. Native finished his junior season with the Dragons ranked fourth in the conference in assists per game at 1.33 and was second on the team with 26 goals. Hooley was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team, after recording eight points in two games. In 2023, Hooley was named to the CAA All-Rookie team.
Lyman returns to Drexel's backline for his third season. During his sophomore campaign, Lyman was a key contributor on a line that allowed just 10.1 goals per game, which topped the conference. The Thousand Oaks, Calif. Native also grabbed 43 ground balls, which was a team-high and caused 14 turnovers, which was another team-high.
Kammar earned a spot on the Preseason team after being one of the top short stick defenders in the CAA last season. He scooped 34 ground balls, which was third on the team. He also scored four goals for the Dragons. Since joining Drexel in 2023, Lyman has played in all 45 games.
The Series
The Blue Hens hold a 52-28 lead in the all-time series. Drexel had a six game winning streak from 2012 through 2017, but since then the Blue Hens have had their way with the Dragons. Delaware has won the last five meetings and has won eight of the last nine. The last Drexel win in the series came during the 2021 season, when the Dragons defeated Delaware in Newark, 12-9. Aidan Coll had five goals to lead DU to the win.
