Second-year player who possesses good size…served as a reserve and has a chance to see increased time this spring, either on attack or at midfield…stepped up his play when Ambler went down late in the season due to injury.
2007: Appeared in 10 games and finished with seven goals and two assists…was named the CAA Rookie of the Week after scoring two goals, including the game-winner, and handing out an assist in win at Hofstra.
2006: Redshirted.
Background: Attended Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, N.Y…was a two-time Offensive Player of the Year…named All-Section and All-League four times…graduated as the top scorer in school history… played on the Hudson Valley Empire team… a National Merit Scholarship finalist.
Personal: Son of Joe and Nancy Variano…his father was a running back at Missouri Valley College…majoring in sport management.
