TABASCO® Men's Lacrosse Game Preview: Drexel Visits No. 11 Maryland on Saturday

Philadelphia - The Drexel men's lacrosse team will battle its third top 20 team this season on Saturday afternoon. The Dragons travel to College Park, Md., to face No. 11 Maryland at noon. The Terrapins begin play ranked 11th in the nation.
Drexel is looking for its first win after fallling to Villanova on Tuesday night, 14-11. Ryan Belka had six points, including five assists, to lead the Dragons. Cole Shafer and Robert Frazee each had hat tricks, but it wasn't enough for Drexel to pull out the win. Nick Saputo showed why he is one of the top face-off men in the country. The senior won 21 of his 28 face-offs and had a career-best 18 ground balls. Saputo has now won 62 percent of his face-offs in three games.
Belka leads the team with six assists and 11 points. Shafer is tops on the squad with seven goals, including three on the man-up. Frazee and Mason Pynn have each scored four times, one less than Belka.
The Terrapins are 2-1 after beating Penn earlier this week. Maryland, one of the top defensive teams year in and year out, has allowed just 18 goals in three games. Kyle Bernlohr has a .640 save percentage in the cage. Offensively, Matt Rambo has six goals, four assists and 10 points. He leads the team in each of those categories. Henry West has scored five times, while Dylan Matz, Jay Carlson and Joe LoCascio each have four goals.
Despite being just 130 miles apart, Drexel and Maryland have only met on one occasion. The Terps defeated Drexel back in 1943. The teams will meet in Philadelphia next season.
