Dragons Fall in a 15-6 Battle With Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Grace Harding led DU with two goals, but the Drexel women's lacrosse team fell in a Saturday matinee, 15-6 to the Penn State Nittany Lions. DU's record stands at 2-1 following the first trio of contests to start the season.

The Dragons return home to face No. 2 Maryland in their Game Hair Havoc Game on Tuesday, February 21. The opening draw from Vidas Field is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on LacrosseTV.

- Hayleigh Simpson, and Bridget Finley tallied.
- Corinne Bednarik scored and collected four draw controls.
- Jenika Cuocco earned eight saves and three ground balls.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Dragons allowed the game's first goal in the third minute of the first quarter. After a goal by Harding, PSU earned three unanswered goals to close out the quarter.
- Harding picked up her second tally of the contest and Simpson was successful on a free position shot to cut Penn State's lead to 8-4 at the half.
- Alex Wall sent a pass to Bridget Finley who found the back of the net in the third quarter. The Nittany Lions responded with six goals in the fourth quarter before Bednarik scored unassisted to close out the matchup.
