An experienced defender...has played long-stick middie most of his time at Drexel but can also play short stick…should see minutes playing on the defensive end…a tough team-oriented player.
2005: Appeared in 13 games for the Dragons…had a pair of ground balls.
2004: Started two games for the Dragons and appeared in 12 contests...picked up 14 ground balls...recorded three ground balls against Virginia, Towson and Villanova. 2003: Played in all 14 games and started the last seven games...came up with 14 ground balls...had two or more ground balls four times.
Background: Played locally at Springfield High School...played on the state final four team...also played three years of soccer...son of James and Rebecca Avato...his brother, Mike, is a freshman on this year’s team…majoring in finance.
