Nocera and 400 Free Relay Team Win Gold on Final Day of CAA Championships

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - The Drexel women's swimming and diving team returned to the Christiansburg Aqautic Center on Saturday night to conclude the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships. Drexel won two gold medals on the last day of the meet and finished fourth in the final standings.
Maddie Riley got the night started off with a silver in the 1,650 free. The silver for Riley is her third medal of the meet, after collecting two bronze medals earlier in the week. She had a final of time 16:46.61, a new program record.
Fede Nocera continued her dominance of the backstroke. She won gold in the 200 back to go along with her silver in the 100 back last night. Her time of 1:56.56 is an NCAA B cut time.
Lera Nasedkina and Chelsea Gravereaux both earned a silver medal in the 100 free, after they both finished with a time of 50.18.
Megan Sicinski won silver in the 200 breast with a time of 2:15.68. The senior added the silver to the her bronze medal that she won in the 100 breast.
Drexel continued to shine in the relay races as it won gold in the 400 free relay. The team consisting of Lera Nasedkina, Victoria Palochik, Paige Powell and Chelsea Gravereaux, clocked in a time of 3:21.64 to set a new program record.
William & Mary won the team championship with 663.5 points. UNCW followed the Tribe with 621 points, and Towson with 551.5. Drexel placed fourth with 535. Delaware and Northeastern round out the bottom of the standings with 454 and 424, respecitvely.
